RECENT EXPERIENCE

News Journalist
News Corp Australia, Ipswich | August 2018 to October 2018

Reporting general news for the state’s oldest provincial newspaper, The Queensland Times, this role required me to source, pitch, report and edit up to five stories each workday. Although I immensely enjoyed the work -meeting new people and telling their stories succinctly and persuasively -several conspiring factors unfortunately made it impossible to remain.

Production Coordinator
ABC Television, Canberra | September 2016 to July 2017

Working on the documentary series The House with Annabel Crabb, I was responsible for everything from booking crew, travel and equipment to data-wrangling, archive requests and drafting call sheets. It demanded superior administrative and problem-solving skills to deliver production support within tight deadlines and within budget.

Digital Content and Social Media Coordinator
CIT Solutions, Canberra | May 2014 to August 2016

As manager of social media and content creation for CIT Solutions, the commercial arm of Canberra’s top vocational education provider, I was responsible for ensuring our locally-driven content cut through in local and national markets. I oversaw many aspects of marketing strategy and execution, including writing, editing, interviewing, photography and video.

Digital Content and TV Producer
Southern Cross Austereo, Sydney | July 2012 to May 2015

Working to the frenetic beat of Sydney’s top commercial music station, I devised compelling content and distribution strategies for entertainment news brand Scooplaand nationally syndicated radio shows. I shot, edited and published original video and written content on social media as well as researching and filing stories for online. I wrangled talent, produced red carpet coverage and scripted and produced pre-recorded packages.

EDUCATION

Bachelor of Media (Honours), Macquarie University | 2006-10

Majoring in screen and radio production, I wrote for Sydney street press including The Bragand Vertigo, and hosted a weekly radio program, Overdrive, on community station 2SER.
