RECENT EXPERIENCE

Production Coordinator | Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Canberra
September 2016 to­ July 2017
After departing CIT Solutions with the intention of moving back to Sydney, I was offered the opportunity to undertake a contract with ABC TV as Production Coordinator for the documentary series The House with Annabel Crabb. Blending production responsibilities with organisation and logistics, this role required everything from booking crew and equipment to data wrangling and archive requests. It demanded superior time management, a firm understanding of broadcast television and the ability to deliver production support to tight deadlines and under budget. I worked between Parliament House in Canberra and the ABC’s Ultimo Centre. 

Digital Content and Social Media Coordinator | CIT Solutions, Canberra
July 2015 ­to August 2016

Acknowledging my increased responsibilities and a shifting departmental focus, I was promoted to become manager of CIT Solutions’ social media and content creation. I had sole responsibility for creating locally-driven editorial content from interview through to distribution. I liaised with government to seek comment on relevant stories, interviewed community members and shot photographs and video. I was responsible for media and marketing strategy and execution, coordinating campaigns that were designed to engage the community with the organisation’s creatives and intellectuals via traditional and emerging formats. 

Digital Content Writer | CIT Solutions, Canberra
May 2014 to July 2015

Coordinating the creation of written content across digital, print and internal communications, I was responsible for honing the voice of CIT Solutions in local and national markets. Projects included providing content for citsolutions.edu.au and rewriting external communications to reflect strategic direction. Working to federal government standards, I generated press releases and devised approaches to advertise the company’s short courses (via their not-for-profit community college). In recognition of my work creating effective taglines, copy and media campaigns, I was promoted to the role of Digital Content and Social Media Coordinator. 

Digital Reporter, Digital Content & TV Producer | outhern Cross Austereo Sydney
July 2012 to May 2015
Working in the pressure cooker environment of Sydney’s #1 commercial station, I was responsible for digital coordination and production assistance for Scoopla (the Hit Network’ entertainment brand) as well as national night programs The Dan and Maz Show and The Bump. I shot, edited and published all unique video and written content, filed stories for online, managed talent, coordinated red carpet coverage and scripted pre-recorded packages. I started at SCA as a casual television scriptwriter and producer for Scoopla’s TV news product on Channel Eleven before being promoted to higher duties full time in 2013. After leaving the organisation to move to Canberra in 2014 I was retained as a freelancer, producing ad hoc digital content. 


EDUCATION

Bachelor of Media (Hons) | Macquarie University, Sydney
2006 to­ 2010

Majoring in Screen Production and Radio, I excelled in writing and cultural studies, graduating with an Honours score of 2.1. I was a keen extracurricular participant, writing for student and street publications including The Brag and UTS student paper Vertigo (Macquarie lacked its own outlet at the time), as well as playing an active role in the film appreciation and production societies.


TECHNICAL SKILLS

Hardware: Mac OSX and iOS, PC, DSLR and XDCAM HD Cameras, various video and audio equipment including lapel and directional microphones, plus sound recorders.  

Software: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro and Photoshop - intermediate), Final Cut Pro, custom databases. 

Computer Skills: Basic HTML and proficiency in CMS including Episerver, Squizmatrix and WordPress.
